Cute and Cuddly....

Here are a couple of samples I did for a friend`s upcoming party. They are using the new stamps from the Stampin Up Mini. I am a Halloween freak. Anything with ghouls, ghosts, goblains and I am right there! I can`t wait to dress Aidan up this year! I used the new Sweet Centers with the sweet treat cups, Stampin Up markers, Bo bunny ribbon and black stickles. The purple fence punch is from Martha Stewart.
This is the cutest little penguin from the Cold and Cuddly set. The Walrus and Polar bear in this set are just as sweet! It has so many uses for winter.

Christmas Already!

Yes. I am working on my Christmas cards already. This is sad, but true. I have so many to do and really do love to do them! I am obsessed lately with kraft paper and jewel tones. These are the new Stampin Up stamps from the Christmas section. The trees are from the set Scenic Season and the deer is called Dasher. I used Soft Suede ink and added Stickles into Dasher`s antlers and along the snow line. I used dark green flower soft to add some dimension and pop to the front tree.

New Stampendous...

Having fun with some Christmas stamps from Stampendous. Coloured with Copics.

2 Sad Occasions and 1 Happy One...

The top 2 cards were made for more staff members leaving on different endevours. The first one was for our locum vet who loves cats. They are her life. This is a Bella stamp and bauble, and Copics were used for shading.

This card was made for another receptionist going back to school. This stamp looks so much like her that I could not resist! I love using orange and blue together for a fantasic combination.
This card was for one of the young couples getting married in the community this summer. I used a Bella stamp, and coloured with copics. Some sparkle was added with stickles and the shapes were achieved with spellbinder dies.

Michelle's Mme going away....

One of our staff members is a teacher, and just found out that she got a coveted teaching position... the only problem is it is as a French teacher! :) While we are so proud and happy for her, we are also going to miss our cheery receptionist who was always quick with a smile and a kind word. She only had a week's notice so it is happening pretty quickly. I made this bright card for her with the only French paper I own. It is a little busy, but with sentiments from all 10 of us, how could it not be? I used Copics, and some water colours for around the images. The stamps are Greeting Farm (which I love!) and flowers are Prima.

Cowgirl Engagement...

This is a quick congratulations on your engagement card I did for one of our employees who is getting married to a cowgirl. I used copics to colour and 2 of the new in colours from Stampin Up for the cardstock and ribbon. No card would be complete without the addition of Bella bling!

Race fan... his dad won't be happy!

Dan may not be happy, but the rest of the family is. We went home for a quick visit and went to my brother's to see his family. It was a Sunday, which only means on thing for my brother and his family, my sister and her family and my uncle: RACE DAY! While we are basketball fans in our house, Nascar seems to have made a great impression on Aidan (well, and the cake and birthday gifts too... Nothing like celebrating 5 birthdays at once... 4 kids, all cousins born within 10 days.. ) But my brother was so proud! This is Aidan watching Earnhardt, Uncle Ryan's favorite!

View from my balcony...

The view from my bedroom window was so spectacular this morning! Now if only I could have found a way to move the pesky hydro wires out of my way. It is mornings like this that I realize exactly how lucky I am to live in the North and be able to see images like this instead of concrete and cars.

It's not easy being green...

I started working on the next wedding invitations. The bride and groom left for Costa Rica for a month and only left me with limited instructions on the colours they want and the pictures they wanted to incorporate. I am finding it tough to only use various shades of the same green as I like to add a little colour. Based on various style elements from other samples that the bride liked, I worked on a very rough draft on some ideas.

Big Helper...

Aidan decided to be a big helper to his dad today and shovel the driveway. Not sure if he is holding up the shovel or if the shovel is actually the one in control!

K's wedding invitations...

I was asked to come up with a creative idea for a local couple's wedding invitations. One of the bridesmaids is a good friend of mine and it was so easy working with the bride. She was laid back and just let me know what colours she liked and we went from there. We had just a short couple of weeks to go from idea to 190 of these all set to go and be mailed. Luckily she has some fabulous friends and family and everyone pitched in and they were done in 2 short afternoons. It is hard to see the jewels, pearls and the stickles in the picture, but they really shone in the sun. The bride loves butterflies, so we threw it in there just for her. I loved working with the simple design and colours.

Hogs and Kisses!

Here are a couple of the valentine's cards I made for my son's daycare class. Everyone really enjoyed the sentiments "Hogs and Kisses" and "You are beary special". Lost on the children but the parents thought it was funny! Couldn't resist putting hersey's kisses in there. It wouldn't be Valentine's day without them. My little peanut was pretty excited to be able to give them to his little buddies.

Getting started...

Well, I am just getting started, so please be patient with me until I get this up and going. I am hoping to find someone who has some creative talents with respect to designing the blog. That is one aspect I am not very good at! I have created this block as a creative outlet for me to show my work and hopefully inspire others as some very talented people have done for me!
