I'm Back!!!

Sorry about taking such a long time in between posts. Things have been crazy with students, new veterinarians, Peanut not being in daycare and all the rest of life's little time consuming things! But, I have made a mid year's resolution to myself to take some time for myself to enjoy the little moments and create.

These are little treat boxes that I did for a wedding last fall. They turned out really cute and everyone seemed to enjoy them. Wrapped underneath is minature hershey's chocolates and they were done all in fall colours to coordinate with both the theme of the autumn wedding and the colours of the flowers. We added black as that was the colour of the bridesmaid dresses.

The paper is Bazzill and the ribbon, ink, templates and stamps are all Stampin' Up!

Stay tuned for more creative coming and thanks for the support!

Fundraising/One Hundred Best Wishes Quilt...

We are fundraising for Quhyn's Orphanage. We think it is very important to give back. Along with our personal donation, we are asking our friends, family and community to donate and help us fundraise for the children in the Huizhou Orphanage. Every little bit extra can help the director of the Orphanage with shoes, clothing, food, to celebrate birthdays, holidays, and every day expenses, including the funding for new supplies, equipment and fees to put children up for adoption. We hope everyone will be generous and dig deep for these amazing children! Please pass it on to anyone who may be willing to donate.

While we wait for Quhyn, we are also working on her Bai Jei Bei, or 100 Best Wishes Quilt, which is a Chinese tradition to make a quilt with contributions of squares of fabric and wishes from 100 families. If anyone is interested, it is an amazing gift for her and we would be honoured to have anyone be involved. Just let us know! :) As we get the squares, we will post them up here for everyone to see the unique and beautiful fabrics. We appreciate everyone's support while we wait for our beautiful Quhyn.

Divine Bovine website is ready to go!!!!

Our farm website is finally finished! Go and check it out at www.divinebovine.net. It was a lot of work and we are grateful that it is up and going. We are pretty excited about it and the fact that the Con College daycare has picked up using our Divine Bovine, as has George's Market. That is sooo fantastic to get our product and name out there. We also have it available at Peter's Country Fresh Meats, at The Lakehead University Outpost and A.J's Trading Post. It is also available straight from the farm and at the Neebing Market on Thursday nights at the Blake Hall on Blake Hall Rd. Can't you tell we are proud of our Divine Bovine!!

Being farmers is a dedicated work, but it is a part of us and we love that our children will be able to live a rural life!

A little creative contribution....

These are a couple of cards I made for friends this past spring. I love the Jolie paper line and enjoyed working with my copics to create the image (a Bella stamp) of the girl in the coffee cup. It is difficult to see from the image, but the girl is really sparkly and pretty.

The other card is one I made for a special friend who helped us out a lot and is selfless.. which is such a rare thing in this world.

Gone is 3 and onto 4....

HAPPY 4TH BIRTHDAY PEANUT!!! We celebrated Aidan's birthday twice this year... once on his actual birthday with just the three of us, and once again with his aunts, uncles and cousins. He was so happy to have the kids to play with and was spoiled ridiculously, as usual. He wanted a "John Deere" cake and was insistent that he have one that I made and one from his favorite bakery, Dagwoods. Dagwoods cakes are phenominal. There isn't one single thing they can't do with icing and cake.

The Sweetest Little Easter Bunny!

Happy Easter! Hope you all have a little somebunny to spoil this weekend, and family and friends to celebrate with! Aidan is always a willing participant when the camera comes out, but it is difficult to photograph a child with translucent skin. Could he be any cuter? I can say that without any biased at all....... :)

While we are grateful this weekend, we are also missing our other little pumpkin and hope that she is safe and loved getting a snuggle from her nanny.

All the best from our family to yours!

Fun in the North?

Yes, we are rednecks. We can create fun with just about anything. And boy did we have a blast in the snow on the March Break with our little man. We are in so much trouble with him already as he loves speed. Zipping around on the toboggan and Dan swinging him around on it was his favorite thing to do each day! It was nice and warm but BRIGHT... so we had to limit our outside time, but enjoyed every second!

Doing the Happy Dance!! Referral!

Ok, it is official! We can let the world know. We have our referral of our beautiful baby girl, Quhyn Leigh Rose Mao, who is residing in Guangdong, China! Smitten is the only word I can use for all of us right now. We are sooo in love with her already and can't wait to hold her. We are a little in shock as we weren't expecting our referral right now, but as everyone know, things happen when they are supposed to. Going to go and hug my family again and stare at her picture. Let's hope PA and LSC come soon!
