Christmas is Coming! Do you Believe?

This year has been difficult on my creative mojo. My supplies were all packed until recently and my heart wasn't in it. But, I got over a major hurdle and started unpacking the incidentals. I picked up some new supplies at my LSS and got started with my Christmas card making. I try to put a lot of time and effort into my cards so the recepients know how much they mean to our family. My goal is to do a card every couple of days and by the time the holidays are here, I will have enough to send. I was hoping to have these all done early this year. But, with a little Chritmas music, sone Candy Cane tea and some inspiration around me, I will get there! I Believe in the spirit and magic of Christmas. Do you?

My recipe:

Howdy Cowpoke!

This is a card for a special little cowpoke, our nephew who is a cowboy through and through. He loves to get down and dirty with the cows, be in the mud with his electric horse (quad) and is the first to jump up in the tractor and help out. For 8 he is such an ambitious kid and is following in the footsteps of his great-great grandad, great grandad, grandad and dad.

The recipe:

Stamp: Craftin' Kimmies, Patterned paper: Flair Designs, Patterned Cardstock: Bazzill, White Cardstock & Inside sentiment & Brads: Stampin' Up, Assorted Copics, Front Sentiments Stamp: Memory Box, Punches: EK Success, Twine: My Kitchen!

1st Round of Valentines.....

I was able to spend some quality time in my scrap room last night to get a few things done. The first thing I started was a card for my grandparents. They have been together for 65 years and have taught me so much about marriage and working together as a couple. I wanted to send them a "I love you" Valentines. It is not perfect yet, so I will post later, but I was able to get 10 of these Valentines's done for Aidan's teachers/support workers/daycare providers/friends. I am really hoping to get some more done tomorrow, but work first, play later -- sadly! I have to do ones for his class and daycare too, so here's hoping I can get it all done.

Recipe:

Stamp from Kraftin' Kimmies, Punches from EK Success, Bazzill Papers, Heart pins from Maya Road, Ribbons and white paper from Stampin' Up, Pattern Paper by Bo Bunny. There are 3 Bella dots. Prismacolours and Paint thinner are also used. Copics used: R46, RV21, RV23, E09, E19, E29, E25, E27, E37, E39, E57, E59

From this summer....

These are just a few of the cards I made for a friend this past summer. The first one sports "Lillith" from Kraftin' Kimmies because of our inside joke with Frogs. The sentiment is also Kimmies. I used some baker's twine, a Stampin' Up button, and some miscellaneous brads. Since this was done about 6 months ago, I can't remember where the paper came from (I know, bad blogger!). Lillith was coloured with Copics, and there is some Stickles on the dress and on the frog.

This is the inside of the card. It was for my best friend, and while I often don't like to put sentiments on paper due to things being misconstrued or the person reading it not having the benefit of facial expressions or tone, I was pretty emotional and couldn't say what I wanted to her. I just couldn't get it out. The papers were all Stampin' Up. (Marina Mist, Chocolate Chip and Whisper White) The Ribbon used on the front and inside of the card is also Stampin' Up. On the front of the card is miscellaneous patterned paper that came out of my scrap bin. I used Marshmellow Glimmer Mist and a Glimmer Screen as well as baker's twine and Bella's Baubles. The flower is a Prima flower and was sprayed with Pinecone Glimmer Mist. The stamp is Suzette, a Ketto stamp from Stamping Bella. She is also accented with Copics.

They are pretty simple cards, but I love the colours on both of them, and were made for someone who I knew would appreciate every detail.
